Developer Psyonix has been supporting Rocket League since launch
with new content and events and it comes as no surprise that the game
has a huge dedicated community that plays the game. Now, just in time
for the game’s second anniversary Psyonix has revealed that over 33
million players have played the game.
As revealed by the developer itself, 33 million players have played
the game to date with a total of 1.5 bn matches and have scored a total
of 7 bn goals in the game. According to the stats, an average daily of
1.6m players are playing the game with 3.3 million playing weekly and
6.1 million players play it monthly.
The stats further reveal that PlayStation 4 remains the platform of
choice for the majority of the community as 41% of users are playing the
game on PS4, followed by 32% on Xbox One and Steam users account for
27%.
In related news, Psyonix has partnered with Tencent to bring the Rocket League Free-To-Play to China.
The partnership was announced during Tencent’s UP 2017 press conference
and the two firms will work on a new version of Rocket League for
Chinese gamers.
The main and the obvious difference in the game is that it will be
free-to-play. While the game will be free-to-play, players will
presumably have to purchase the aesthetic customizations for the
vehicles.
Rocket League is a vehicular soccer video game developed by Psyonix for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
